Providing an important financial support to the development of Turkish maritime sector, DenizBank attends at the same time to its social responsibilities and continues its efforts to make sailing come to fore and be popular all over Turkey. In this framework, DenizBank has assumed the corporate sponsorship of TORC (Turkish Offshore Racing Club) for five years.
DenizBank had undertaken also the sponsorship of Maritime Forces Coup Morning Offshore Race in previous years. It is now giving impetus to its supports to sailing through its collaboration with TORC.
Within the framework of this corporate sponsorship which will be in effect between 2008 and 2012, all of the races in the trophy of TORC will be called as “DenizBank-TORC Trophy Races” for five years starting from this year. The emblems of DenizBank and TORC will be used together in the races scheduled in TORC’s trophy. Again in the framework of this cooperation, “Marmara Coup” which is the second biggest race and the most important offshore race in Marmara Sea, will be renamed as “DenizBank-Marmara Coup”. As from this year, the trophies will be held under the name of DenizBank-TORC.
The main shareholder of DenizBank, Dexia intensively supports sailing.
Within the framework of this cooperation, the voluntary participants of DenizAcademy that offers training opportunities to DenizBank employees and DenizClub which organizes the social activities within the group will be able to learn sailing with the support of TORC.
The cooperation between the two institutions was announced to the public with the press conference organized in Ataköy Marina TORC Building on March 29, 2008. Right after the meeting, the first race of DenizBank-TORC Trophy was started with an activity in which senior level managers of DenizBank and press members participated.
